MSUM waives application fees to celebrate “College Knowledge Month”
MSUM offers free application for admission Oct. 25-31, 2013
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities (MnSCU) system is participating in “College Knowledge Month,” a statewide effort to provide every graduating high school senior with the preparation, opportunity and support needed to apply to college. In conjunction with this effort, Minnesota State University Moorhead and 24 other MnSCU colleges and universities, will waive application fees for new students for a limited time.
“At MSUM, we are pleased to support new students by waiving application fees the last week of October,” said Rance Larsen, Director of Admissions. “This important initiative provides everyone an opportunity to apply, and provides access to an extraordinary education.”
The initiative is designed to provide opportunities for high schools and postsecondary institutions to collaborate in a concentrated effort to engage, inform and support students as they enter into the college application process.
The culmination of College Knowledge Month is a week in which many colleges and universities across the state waive application fees. This year, 25 MnSCU colleges and universities will waive application fees during the week of Oct. 25 – 31, 2013.
The Minnesota State Colleges and Universities system includes 24 two-year community and technical colleges and seven state universities serving more than 430,000 students. It is the fifth-largest higher education system of its kind in the United States.
