MSN and MHA Students Participate in a Public Policy Immersion Workshop
MSN and MHA students participated in a Public Policy Immersion Workshop in St. Paul, Minnesota, on October 29-30, gaining firsthand experience in healthcare policy and advocacy. During the workshop, students learned about the policymaking process, interacted with a current Minnesota senator, explored advocacy strategies, and practiced delivering mock legislative testimonies.
Dr. Brandi Sillerud, Professor in the School of Nursing and Healthcare Leadership (SNHL), led the experiential learning event and served as a speaker throughout the workshop. Amy Vogt, Adjunct Faculty in SNHL, attended and supported students during the experience. The workshop gave students valuable opportunities to develop the knowledge and skills needed to become effective healthcare leaders and advocates.
