‘The Meaning of Loud’ panel planned for Friday, Oct 16
Explore how amplified sound and electric guitar technology reshaped American culture and artistic expression during “The Meaning of Loud: Sound, Technology, Culture.” The panel discussion, featuring faculty and community experts, will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 16, in the Fox Recital Hall, Roland Dille Center for Arts.
“The Meaning of Loud” is one of several events happening in conjunction with the One Book One Community reading program. This year’s selected book is “The Birth of Loud” by Ian S. Port, which traces the history of the electric guitar and rivalry between Leo Fender and Les Paul.
Minnesota State Moorhead will also host Port for an author visit at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, in the Glasrud Auditorium of Weld Hall. For more information, visit www.1book1community.org
