Celebrate Homecoming | Oct. 5-10
Minnesota State University Moorhead’s annual Homecoming Week celebration begins Monday, Oct. 5 and continues through Saturday, Oct. 10, with a weeklong schedule of games, traditions, and live entertainment.
This year’s celebration marks a major campus milestone with the grand re-opening of historic Weld Hall. The newly restored venue will serve as a centerpiece for the week’s biggest cultural highlights, including an official ribbon-cutting ceremony, a featured concert by the acclaimed vocal ensemble Cantus, and the return of the Band Alumni Homecoming Concert. The alumni concert celebrates 50 years of music, honoring four directors who have helped the shape the band program.

Monday, Oct. 5
- 7:30 p.m. – Watch Dragons display their talent and meet the homecoming royalty during Dragons Got Talent & Court Reveal at the Comstock Memorial Union (CMU) Ballroom.
Tuesday, Oct. 6
- 7:30 p.m. – Students can enjoy an Outdoor Movie Night (Shrek) on the CMU Patio (rain site: CMU Main Lounge).
Wednesday, Oct. 7
- 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Support a campus favorite, Pi Your Professor with the Math Club, on the campus mall.
- Noon to 2 p.m. – Try them all, vote for your favorite, and see who takes the trophy in the Deans’ Chili Feedon the campus mall.
- 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Alumni and friends (21+) are invited to the Dragon Homecoming Happy Hour at Swing Barrel Brewing (814 Center Ave., Moorhead).
Thursday, Oct. 8
- 1 to 3 p.m. – Stop by the campus mall for the Ice Cream Social (rain site: Center for the Arts).
- 7:30 p.m. – Experience vocal ensemble Cantus presenting “Simple Gifts” in Weld Hall.
- 8:30 to 11:30 p.m. – Witness the energy of Battleship H2O at the Nemzek Swimming Pool.
Friday, Oct. 9
- 10:30 a.m. – Join campus leadership for the historic Weld Hall Grand Re-Opening & Ribbon Cutting.
- 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Honor MSUM legends at the Dragon Athletics Hall of Fame Ceremony in the CMU Ballroom.
- 3 p.m. – Dragon Soccer takes on the University of Minnesota Duluth at Nemzek Soccer Field.
- 6 p.m. – Dragon Volleyball faces Concordia-St. Paul at Nemzek Fieldhouse.
- 8:30 p.m. – Marquee event: Homecoming Coronation, Burning of the M, and Fireworks outside Nemzek.
Saturday, Oct. 10
- Noon – Dragon Football takes on the University of Mary at Scheels Field.
- 3:30 p.m. – Dragon Volleyball matches up against Winona State University at Nemzek Fieldhouse.
- 6:30 p.m. – Hear former music students perform in the MSUM Band Alumni Homecoming Concert in Weld Hall.
- 7:30 p.m. – Close out the week with performance from Comedian Eric O’Shea in Weld Hall.
