President Downs discusses enrollment growth and student success with WDAY Radio Midday

President Tim Downs joined WDAY Radio Midday’s Chris Larson to highlight the university’s excellent growth in both new student and total headcount and expected record retention rates entering the 2026-27 academic year.

“This year our overall enrollments have gone up just over six percent,” President Downs stated. “The really cool thing about that, of all the seven universities in the state college and university system, we’re the highest. So, we’re just—we’re rocking it.”

During the segment, President Downs also discussed the early success of the inaugural Honors College class, noting that more than 300 students opted into the program, including a quarter of new incoming students.
