Minnesota State Moorhead is proud to recognize Isaac Martin as the 2026 Undergraduate Student Employee of the Year!
This honor, presented during National Student Employment Week, celebrates outstanding student employees who demonstrate excellence in their roles while making meaningful contributions to the campus community.
Isaac, a junior majoring in Early Childhood Education, was selected from a strong pool of nominees, reflecting the incredible talent and dedication of student employees across campus. We are fortunate to have so many students who bring passion, professionalism, and purpose to their work each day, and this year’s nominations were a powerful reminder of the impact student employees have at MSUM.
Isaac serves as a student employee in the Early Education Center, where he has consistently gone above and beyond in his work within the preschool classroom. He is known for his initiative, reliability, and genuine commitment to becoming an exceptional educator. Isaac actively connects what he is learning in the classroom to his work with young learners, demonstrating a level of intentional growth and reflection that sets him apart.
In his role, Isaac is both highly engaged and dependable. He supports daily classroom routines, anticipates needs, and builds strong, positive relationships with the children. His ability to seamlessly balance responsibility with meaningful interaction creates a supportive and enriching learning environment.
Beyond his daily responsibilities, Isaac has expanded his impact through participation in a literacy program in partnership with Moorhead Public Schools. Working one-on-one with children to strengthen their reading skills, he has demonstrated a deep commitment to both his professional development and community engagement. He brings these experiences back into the classroom, further enhancing the learning environment for students.
Isaac is also recognized for his strong communication skills and leadership. He regularly shares thoughtful observations that help guide instructional planning and has stepped into leadership roles when needed, including serving as lead teacher and mentoring new student employees. His dedication to teamwork, equity, and inclusion contributes to a welcoming and supportive environment for both children and colleagues.
Isaac Martin exemplifies the very best of MSUM student employees. His professionalism, leadership, and commitment to growth make a lasting impact on the Early Education Center and the broader campus community.
Congratulations, Isaac, on this well-deserved recognition, and thank you to all of our student employees who continue to make MSUM a vibrant and thriving place to learn and work.
