
Dragon Giving Day Exceeds Goal by 44 Percent
Minnesota State Moorhead and the MSUM Foundation exceeded its $750,000 Dragon Giving Day Goal by 44 percent, raising more than $972,000 in 24 hours. A record-breaking day of generosity fuels scholarships, programs, and student success with more than 800 gifts made to the fundraising effort, marking the seventh year Moorhead has held a giving day. Gifts from alumni, parents, employees, board members, community members, and businesses will support a variety of university programs.. Nearly $500,000 was in the form of matching gifts from dedicated donors.
“This record-setting fundraising day speaks volumes about the generosity of Minnesota State Moorhead alumni, partners and friends in fueling our growth and affirming confidence in our mission,” said Gary Haugo, vice president of university advancement and the MSUM Foundation.
- Gifts came from more than 700 individuals in 28 states, Canada and Australia.
- The top three states participating: Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota
- Eighty (80) university programs participated in Dragon Giving Day, representing student scholarships, academic programs, athletics, veteran services, and community outreach.
- The Greatest Needs fund exceeded its goal by 35 percent, raising $35,685.01 to address urgent priorities, fund innovative ideas, and meet the evolving needs of our students and campus community.
