Aspiring Teachers Gain Professional Insights at MREA Greater Minnesota Summit
Drs. Scott Klimek and David Wolff led students from the Nibbe School of Teaching and Learning to the 2025 Minnesota Rural Education Association’s Greater Minnesota Summit, held November 16-18. Over the course of 2.5 days, preservice teachers participated in professional development sessions designed specifically for future educators. These sessions included mock interviews with administrators from across Greater Minnesota, giving students the chance to experience real interview questions and receive valuable feedback. They also attended administrative panels to learn about living and working in rural communities, as well as a resume workshop to strengthen their job application skills. In addition, students engaged in breakout sessions and keynote activities alongside practicing teachers and school leaders, gaining insight into current educational practices. The highlight of the summit was the opportunity to network with potential employers, helping students build connections that could shape their teaching careers.
