Minnesota State Moorhead Master of Social Work earns national accreditation
The Master of Social Work (MSW) at Minnesota State Moorhead has received full accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
“Having earned full accreditation, our MSW program is recognized as meeting the highest standards in quality social work education. The process to achieve accreditation is long and rigorous, and we are very proud to receive this recognition,” says program coordinator Jeremy Carney.
According to CSWE’s website, the accreditation assures the program has a clearly defined mission and objective that are consistent with the expectations of social work practice. As the sole accreditor of social work programs in the United States, CSWE-accredited programs are held to higher standards.
Moorhead’s undergraduate Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) has also been CSWE accredited for over 50 years. With this new accreditation for the MSW, students in the program can be confident they are receiving a top-tier education at the graduate level.
In addition to the new accreditation, Moorhead’s MSW is the top public MSW program in Minnesota (#2 overall), according to counselingpsychology.org. The program offers flexibility with its online delivery, and customization with two unique specializations: Multicultural Clinical and Social Change & Leadership.
