Biology alumnus elected to prestigious National Academy of Sciences
Dr. Rodney Tweten (’76) was elected to the National Academy of Sciences for his groundbreaking career in microbiology.
His decades of research on bacterial toxins has help advanced medicine, vaccine development, and even cancer treatment approaches. And it all began with a lab key and some unforgettable professors in King Hall.
“I’m just a detective at heart and can’t bear to not solve the latest scientific puzzle,” Rodney says.
