Join the Library’s Banned Books Reading Group for “Looking for Alaska”

Across the country, library staff are facing a surge in book ban attempts. In 2024 alone, 2,452 unique titles were challenged, including 5 in North Dakota and 20 in Minnesota. The freedom to explore diverse perspectives, cultures, and experiences is under threat, and it’s more important than ever to stand together against censorship.

Join us for the Livingston Lord Library’s Banned Books Reading Group this summer!

      Monday, July 14

      12:00–1:00 PM

    Library Porch (LI 100)

We’ll be discussing Looking for Alaska by John Green, a frequently challenged novel that explores themes of identity, loss, and discovery. The conversation will be led by Cori Edgerton, Library Technician, and Jean Kramer, Technical Services Librarian.

Bring your lunch, your thoughts, and your passion for the freedom to read. All MSUM faculty, staff, and students are welcome.
