Flying Toward Her Future: Student pilot pursues criminal justice

Meet Muna Ibrahim — student pilot, criminal justice major at Minnesota State Moorhead, and aspiring Federal Air Marshal. Before beginning her college journey, Muna earned her student pilot license. 

 

“The sky represents freedom for me. Everything in the sky is free. That’s what made me want to become a pilot,” says Muna. Born in Somalia and raised in Kenya, Muna moved to the United States with her family in 2012.  

 

Soon after, Muna found a home at Moorhead. She says, “Moorhead stood out for its diversity, supportive community, and the opportunities it offers.”
