Join Us at the 34th Annual Woodlands and High Plains Powwow, Saturday, April 5

Join us at the 34th annual Woodlands and High Plains Powwow (WHPP) on Saturday, April 5, 2025, in the Memorial Union on the Concordia College campus from 1:00 – 10:00 pm. This year’s theme is “Knowledge is Power, Tradition is Strength.” The WHPP is sponsored by Minnesota State University Moorhead, Concordia College, Minnesota State Community and Technical College, North Dakota State University (NDSU), and North Dakota State College of Science. The powwow rotates each year among MSUM, NDSU, and Concordia College, the three campuses with venues large enough to host the event. This year, Concordia College is honored to serve as the host.

This powwow is an opportunity to experience traditional Indigenous dances, drum songs, and community gathering. Special dances include the Potato Dance Special and Head Male Dancer Special. Grand entries are at 1:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., with a community meal during the 5:00 p.m. break. Doors open to the public at noon.

Immediately following the 7:00 p.m. Grand Entry, there will be a special song and dance honoring all area college and high school graduates.

In addition, attendees can browse the art and craft vendors showcasing traditional and contemporary Indigenous artwork, beadwork, and handmade goods. This is a great opportunity to engage with Indigenous artists and support their work.

Youth (6-17) – $3
