October is AAC Awareness Month
October is augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) awareness month. AAC is defined as any means of communicating other than talking. Here at MSUM, we have the Speech Language and Hearing Clinic that supports all things communication. The Regional Assistive Technology Center (RATC) located within the clinic, specializes in assisting others with finding the right AAC fit for them. Recently, Jennie Wollan, the RATC director, talked about the RATC and the services they can provide in the STAR Program’s Constellations newsletter.
