Jennifer Weir and TaikoArts Midwest at Homecoming
Theatre alum Jennifer Weir strives to celebrate Asian Americans through the art of Taiko, Japanese percussion instruments. Founding TaikoArts Midwest has helped her discover new parts of herself and redefine what it means to be an Asian American Woman in the arts:
“In the performing arts, so much of what you bring to the role is your life experience, and college can give you that.”
Jennifer Weir is joining the MSUM Homecoming festivities by performing TONIGHT (Oct. 9) in the Hansen Theater at 7:30 p.m. Music students also have a chance to join her in a workshop earlier today.
