MSUM’s Master of Social Work named among the top 10 in the country by Forbes Advisor

MSU Moorhead’s Master of Social Work has been named among Forbes Advisor’s “Best Master Of Social Work Online Programs of 2024.”

Forbes ranked 75 accredited, nonprofit colleges offering online MSW programs in the U.S. using 16 data points in the categories of credibility, affordability, student outcomes, student experience and application process. MSUM’s program is the only school included in the list from Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

“The MSUM School of Social Work is extremely honored by this recognition. We’ve worked hard to develop an online MSW program that is flexible and responsive to both student and employer needs,” says MSW Program Coordinator Jeremy Carney. “Our faculty bring a breadth of experiences to the virtual classroom and engage students with modern social work practice methods, preparing them for the many professional opportunities available.”

This top-ranked program includes two unique specialties developed from workforce needs: Multicultural Clinical and Social Change & Leadership. The program is backed by MSUM’s more than 50 years of history educating social workers.
