Office of Youth Outreach receives FM Area Foundation Community Grant
The Minnesota State University Moorhead Office of Youth Outreach has been awarded a $5,000 grant from the FM Area Foundation to provide scholarships for K-12 students attending MSUM Youth Camps in 2024. This generous grant has funded over 70 need-based scholarships, allowing students in grades K-12 to participate in summer camps organized by MSUM Community Engagement.
This summer’s offerings include College for Kids & Teens (ages 6-18) and Scrubs Camp for students entering grades 9-12. College for Kids & Teens is a dynamic summer camp program where expert instructors lead classes that promote exploration, adventure, and creativity, fostering a deep appreciation for a wide range of subjects. Scrubs Camp provides high school students in grades 9-12 with the chance to explore various health science professions through interactive, hands-on activities. Topics often covered include surgery, microbiology, nursing, athletic training, mental health, holistic medicine, and more. The primary goal of Scrubs Camp is to ignite students’ excitement and interest in pursuing careers in the health sciences.
