Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management candidates will be on campus Nov. 27, 29 and Dec. 1

MSUM will hold campus visits for the following Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management candidates on Nov. 27, Nov. 29 and Dec. 1. Campus visits provide an opportunity for faculty, staff and students to meet each of the candidates and offer feedback. President Downs encourages in-person participation, but a Zoom link is available for those unable to attend in person. It is the same zoom link for all three days: https://minnstate.zoom.us/j/96434498118. Open forums will not be recorded.

Randall Langston All Campus Open Forum will be Monday, Nov. 27 from 2 to 3 p.m. in CMU 105   

Randall Langston is the Senior Associate Vice President for Enrollment Management at the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg. He previously served as Executive Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the University of Central Missouri in Warrensburg and was Vice President for Enrollment Management at Texas Women’s University in Denton. He holds a Ph.D. in higher education studies, an M.Ed. in higher education administration and a bachelor’s degree in political science.


Jason Trainer All Campus Open Forum will be Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 2 to 3 p.m. in CMU 105   

Jason Trainer is the Vice Provost of Enrollment Management and Institutional Marketingat Indiana State University in Terre Haute. He previously served as Principal Consultant with Trainer Enrollment and Marketing Consulting and was the Director of Admissions at the University of North Dakota. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in higher education, a master’s degree in management and a B.S. in marketing.


Brandon Vinson All Campus Open Forum will be Friday, Dec. 1 from 2 to 3 p.m. in CMU 105   

Brandon Vinson is the Associate Vice Chancellor of Enrollment Management Services at Winston-Salem State University in North Carolina. He previously served as Associate Vice President of Enrollment Management and Student Affairs/Head Coach (Esports) at Bowie (Md.) State University and was Assistant Vice President of Financial Aid at West Chester (Penn.) University. He holds a Doctor of Education in educational leadership and management, a master’s degree in psychology/organizational leadership and a B.A. in psychology and sociology.


About the position

MSUM’s new Vice President of Strategic Enrollment Management is a leadership role encompassing both recruitment and retention, with a laser focus on strategic enrollment growth that positions the university for enrollment and financial success. This position will oversee Enrollment Marketing, Scholarship & Financial Aid, Undergraduate Admissions, International Recruitment & Enrollment and Graduate Recruitment & Enrollment and will collaborate closely with many areas across campus to implement admission and retention strategies. Cross-functional collaboration throughout our university will also include efforts dedicated to: recruitment of transfer, international, graduate, professional, non-degree seeking, online, and veteran students. This position’s focus on enrollment is paramount to enhance our recruitment efforts, improve retention rates, and attract a diverse student population to MSUM.
