Get tested to “Be the Match”
Wednesday, Nov. 29 | 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. | Comstock Memorial Union
MSUM’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and cross-country and track & field teams are partnering with the National Marrow Donor Program to host a “Be the Match” registry event on Wednesday, Nov. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Comstock Memorial Union. You are invited to stop by and do a quick cheek swab to see if you are a match.
The SAAC and athletic teams are raising awareness about the importance of the bone marrow registry as one of MSUM’s women’s cross-country/track and field student-athletes was diagnosed with leukemia in October 2023. Ashley Robben is one of the lucky ones because her brother is a 100 percent match. However, many others are struggling and there are not enough individuals in the registry system.
You can read more about Ashley’s story here.
MSUM will promote Ashley’s story at the home MBB/WBB games on December 2.
