Installation by Professor Chris Walla at NYC’s Nordstrom
Color Coded was installed in June by MSUM’s sculpture Professor Chris Walla on 58th and Broadway in New York City’s men’s Nordstrom store.
In collaboration with artist Amanda Browder, limited edition bandanas were designed by Walla, and a large-scale installation spanned the Men’s 58th Street floor. As part of the Big Gay Swap Meet, Color Coded expands on Walla’s previous series, The Hanky Project, and features male figures screen printed on oversized bandanas, referencing needlepoint techniques used in the creation of AIDS quilts.
