ASC Tutoring services has moved!

Now located on the first floor of the Library

The Academic Success Center, in collaboration with Livingston Lord Library, will offer its CRLA-certified Academic Assistant tutoring program on the first floor of the library beginning Monday, August 28. This collaboration is a result of recommendations from the 2022-23 Library Strategic Planning Taskforce, which included faculty, staff, and students and represented all campus bargaining units.

“Library faculty and staff have always strived to make the library a collaborative space for student learning, engagement and research. Partnering with the Academic Success Center is a fantastic opportunity to provide students with a space where they can access multiple resources to succeed throughout their academic career,” said Trista Raezer-Sturza, library chair.

Benefits of the move:

  • Increase visibility, accessibility, and usage of tutoring services for students,
  • Enhance collaboration with the Library and University Writing Support Center
  • Continue both drop-in and scheduled session formats for many undergraduate classes, primarily at the 100 and 200 level.

“The library already provides so many student-focused services. We couldn’t be more excited to add tutoring support to that space through this collaboration,” said Laura Kiemele, tutoring coordinator. “We look forward to seeing more students take advantage of peer tutoring not only when they are actively seeking help, but also when they are looking for a space to study with their peers.”
