Sociology and Criminal Justice faculty members attend Midwest Sociological Society Meeting in Minneapolis
Faculty in the Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice participated in a large regional conference last week. Drs. Deb White, Lee Vigilant, Joel Powell, Geraldine Sloan, and two students, Rylan Fitzpatrick and Julia Riegert, attended the Midwest Sociological Society meeting in Minneapolis March 23-26.
Dr. White serves as an MSS Board Member and faculty advisor for Julia Riegert, Sociology major and student presenter. Dr. Powell presented in two sessions: “Police Work and Commentaries on Policing,” and “Sociology of Modern Policing.” Dr. Vigilant served as Discussant for the “Sociology of Modern Policing” session, with Rylan Fitzpatrick, Sociology undergraduate, as Presider of the session. Dr. Sloan presented in the “Teaching Strategies: Differentiating Deviance and Criminology Courses.”
