MSUM Fall to Spring Retention Exceeds Pre-pandemic Average
MSUM Fall-to-Spring retention rates are available for Fall 2022-Spring 2023 on the MSUM Enrollment Retention Efforts webpage.
The most recent Fall-to-Spring retention rate for first-time, full-time undergraduate students is 89.3%, which is an indication the university is making substantial progress toward our goal of reaching 90% Fall-to-Spring retention by 2024. This retention rate is an increase from 86.8% for Fall 2021-Spring 2022 and exceeds the average pre-pandemic retention rate of 88.9% (average includes fall-to-spring retention rates from Fall 2012 to Fall 2019).
Fall-to-Spring retention rates are also available on the Retention webpage for first-time, full-time students who identify as first generation, students of color, or are Pell-grant eligible. Notably, while equity gaps remain between first generation and continuing generation students, as well as Pell-eligible and Non-Pell eligible students, the fall-to-spring retention rate of MSUM domestic students of color (90.9%) exceeded that of white students (90.2%) who started in Fall 2022. Registration for Fall 2023 begins next Monday, April 3, and student enrollment windows are visible in eServices for students and on Advising Home in the Advising & Early Alert system for advisors.
