Apply for Professional Development Funding from the FPLC – Application Process for All Employees

The FPLC Committee is excited to announce a NEW opportunity for all employees.

The FPLC is here to help you with opportunities for your professional growth and in becoming more effective in your job. The FPLC Committee is looking for applications from any employee or teams of employees (non-administration) who have any of the following proposals (note: this is a separate form and process from the faculty Extra Duty Days opportunities, which will be announced separately):

  • A conference for you or your team: The committee will consider the conference registration fee. Note: No other travel expenses will be funded from this process.
  • A webinar that you or your teams wants to view and participate in: We will consider the webinar fee.
  • A learning opportunity such as a short-course that you or members of your team want to attend: We will consider the registration costs.
  • Purchasing materials (books, etc.) that will help your or your team’s professional learning.
  • Other proposals that meet University, program or department goals.

Priority will be given to:

  • Proposals that have the most benefit to the University and can be shared in some way with campus (a presentation, sharing materials, hosting a viewing party).
  • Proposals that involve classified staff or non-faculty professionals (AFSCME, MAPE, MMA, MUSUAASF) as part of the team.
  • Proposals that will result in creation of or revision of a program, a work process, a team manual, or other improvements to the work or learning environment.
  • Proposals that include learning that your can share with your bargaining unit, department, college or other team.
  • Proposals that align with the Strategic Priorities of the University:

This proposal cycle is for learning opportunities that will occur between December 19, 2022 and June 30, 2023. Another call for proposals will occur in mid-Spring 2023.
