MSUM celebrates “Forged by Flames” at Homecoming Oct. 4-9

Homecoming Event Schedule

MSUM will celebrate “Forged by Flames” during its annual homecoming celebration Oct. 4-9 with a wide variety of student and community events. Homecoming kicks off Tuesday, Oct. 4 at 7:30 p.m. with Dragons Got Talent and homecoming court reveal in the Comstock Memorial Union (CMU) Ballroom.  

Selected community events:

Wednesday, Oct. 5
* Noon to 2 p.m. – Dean’s Chili Feed on the Campus Mall (rain site: Center for the Arts)

Thursday, Oct. 6
* Noon – Ice Cream Social on the CMU Patio (rain site: Center for the Arts)
* 2 to 4 p.m. – Art vending machine with Painter Nicole in the CMU Sun Garden Lounge

Friday, Oct. 7
* 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Chalk Art Competition, campus wide
* 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Heart & Soul Community Café Meal on the CMU patio (rain site: CMU Sun Garden Lounge)
* 3 p.m. – Dragon Soccer versus Southwest Minnesota State University at Nemzek Soccer Field
* 6 p.m. – Dragon volleyball takes on Augustana at Nemzek Fieldhouse
* 7 p.m. – Music, yard games and more at Nemzek Practice Field
* 8:40 p.m. – Homecoming Court Coronation, Burning of the M and Fireworks at the Nemzek Practice Field

Saturday, Oct. 8
* 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. – Forged by fun carnival on 17th Street by Nemzek Fieldhouse
* Noon – Dragon football takes on Minot State at Scheels Field
* 3:30 p.m. – Dragon volleyball takes on Wayne State at Nemzek Fieldhouse
* 7:30 p.m. – MSUM’s second annual alumni band and choir concert features alumni performing with current student ensembles. Michael Johnson will conduct the Concert and University Choirs with choir alumni, and Benjamin Druffel conducts the Wind Ensemble with band alumni. Get your free tickets at mnstate.edu/tickets..

Sunday, Oct. 9
* 1 p.m. – Watch Dragon women’s soccer versus the University of Sioux Falls at Nemzek Soccer Field

Dragons Give will go on all week. Donations of new toiletry items, used cellular phones, non-violent children’s toys and non-perishable food items will be collected at various campus locations. All items will be donated to the Rape & Abuse Crisis Center and Dragon Food Pantry.
