Beckermann to Present at PRSA Midwest District Conference
Kay Beckermann, assistant professor in the MSUM School of Communication and Journalism, is presenting at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Midwest District Conference, September 19, 2022, in Minneapolis, MN.
Her presentation, “Trust in an Era of Disinformation: Using Voices4Everyone to Interrupt the Noise,” will focus on how public relations professionals can build trust with audiences before a disinformation campaign is aimed at their organization. Workshop participants will learn techniques aimed at building relationships and civil conversations, how to leverage trust with audiences, and how to educate others about media literacy.
Voices4Everyone is an initiative developed by PRSA with the goal of creating national conversations that build mutual understanding, trust, and civic engagement through more inclusive civil discourse. For more information, please visit voices4everyone.prsa.org.
Dr. Beckermann will be joined by Michael Cherenson, APR, executive vice president of SCG Advertising and Public Relations in New Jersey, and Heidi Reisenauer, director of Super Studio in Fargo.
