More Volunteers Needed: Poverty Simulation for Student Training
As part of training for students before the start of fall semester, several EMSA departments are partnering with the United Way to provide students with a poverty simulation. Through the experience, we will open up conversations with students around empathy, equity and systemic oppression.
To offer this, we need help from volunteers like you!
You’ll be provided with training, instructions, and all the materials needed to play your role. Volunteer roles are things like being the “grocery store clerk” when people come to buy food or being the “teacher” at the school for the kids. No experience is needed and there will be facilitators in the room to answer any questions. Can we count on you?
