Apply for the Marcil Center for Innovative Journalism’s Dragon Media Group
The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead and Minnesota State University Moorhead are looking for as many as five students to participate in a mentorship-based internship in Fall 2022.
The Marcil Center for Innovative Journalism is now accepting applications for the Dragon Media Group. The deadline for applications is Monday, April 25th. Over the course of this semester, students will work with a mentor to gain experience in their chosen area of interest. This could be anything you and your mentor want it to be – from traditional news reporting to photojournalism to multimedia work.
The ideal candidates will be smart, positive and eager to work in a hands-on environment to produce and publish work in topic areas of interest to the Forum’s readers.
The candidates should have an interest in one or more of the following: journalism, multimedia, marketing, videography, public relations, revenue, design and social media. This could include:
- In-depth reporting.
- Basic knowledge of video and photo editing.
- Project management.
- Infogram/graphic design.
- How to conduct a basic marketing campaign.
- How to use social media for professional purposes.
- Podcast creation/audio storytelling.
- How to use digital analytics tools such as Chartbeat, CrowdTangle and Google Analytics.
