MSU Moorhead begins search for new dean of the College of Business, Analytics & Communication

A search is underway for MSU Moorhead’s new dean of the College of Business, Analytics & Communication. The current interim dean is Joshua Behl, who joined MSUM in 2015 and has served as business dean for two-and-a-half years.  

A member of the President’s Administrative Council, the dean of the College of Business, Analytics & Communication will provide collaborative leadership and direction for all academic programs and six departments within the College, including the Professional Management Department, Paseka School of Business, Computer Science and Information Systems, the School of Communication and Journalism, Mathematics, and the Department of Economics, Law and Politics. 

Among the responsibilities of the position are to: 

  • support, initiate, and promote commitment to excellence in teaching, research, and service, 
  • build strong partnerships with employers and community organizations,   
  • provide vision for the development of resources and services that meet MSUM’s scholarly and intellectual needs,  
  • ensure diversity initiatives are realized within the division.    

In addition to accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission, the College of Business, Analytics & Communication holds specialized accreditation with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB), the American Council for Construction Education, and the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering. 

The College has nearly 1,300 declared majors, with business administration one of the largest majors. Recent accolades for programs within the College include: 

  • Best Bachelor’s in Project Management 
  • Top Online Supply Chain Management Degree 
  • AACSB International reaccreditation in 2021  
  • Campus News won in the student news magazine category in the 2021 Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) Mark of Excellence Awards for Region 6.
