Speak Up Application Deadline Extended

Is there something that makes you uniquely recognizable? What does identity mean to you? Does your identity empower or you or give you a unique experience? We want to hear about your journey.

On February 22nd, MSUM will host the fourth annual Speak Up. The 2022 theme is “The Purpose of Identity.” Speak Up is a student-created event that gives MSUM students, faculty, and community members a place to talk about their experiences. The event will consist of speakers and musicians expressing what the purpose of identity is to them. Speakers will give a short talk about any topic relating to their experiences with identity.

Does this sound like you? Do you know someone who would be interested? Fill out the nomination form, or apply to be a speaker! We want to explore the idea of “The Purpose of Identity” from multiple perspectives, so submit an idea you want to share related to the theme.

Nominate someone to speak by December 1st

Apply to be a speaker by December 3rd

Speakers will be selected by the planning team and notified before the end of the fall semester. Each speaker will receive support in developing their talk from a speaker coach.
