Karen Joan Kohoutek has published essays in two recent book-length collections. “‘It’s Strange, but It’s Wonderful’: Doris Wishman’s Nude on the Moon,” an analysis of the 1961 cult film, appeared in ReFocus: The Films of Doris Wishman, from Edinburgh University Press. “Taking the World by the Throat,” a study of a character adapted from the fiction of Robert E. Howard to the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian, appeared in Robert E. Howard Changed My Life: Personal Essays about an Extraordinary Legacy, from Rogue Blades Foundation.
Kohoutek is a library technician at the Livingston Lord Library and a graduate of MSUM’s MFA program in Creative Writing.
