MSUM graduate, Elissa Schley, is expert panelist on statewide webinar
Elissa (Martinson) Schley (MSUM, B.S. Health Services Administration, 2001) was one of four panelists who presented a recent webinar hosted by the Minnesota Gerontological Society titled “Assisted Living Licensure: What to do if you Work with Older Adults.” Elissa is an Options Counseling Policy Analyst with the Senior Linkage Line at the MN Board on Aging where she oversees housing with services counseling. The Minnesota Department of Health and facilities across the state are starting the process of transitioning to an assisted living licensure system that will begin on August 1, 2021. The approximately 400 webinar participants learned about changes coming with the new assisted living licensure law and what it means for residents in Minnesota’s housing and long-term care settings, as well as for those serving and supporting residents. The webinar was moderated by Dr. Sue Humphers-Ginther, Coordinator of MSUM’s Gerontology Program and member of the MGS Board of Directors.
