Mentors for New Faculty Needed: Coffee, Lunch, and Conversation Opportunities
Are you a current MSUM Faculty member? Do you like to meet new colleagues? Do you have knowledge, experience and guidance to share with a new faculty member? Are you a mentor? Do you like coffee and lunches? The Faculty Development and Professional Learning Center is looking for MSUM faculty members to meet and greet new faculty early in the Fall semester (event date TBD) and to commit to meeting with one new faculty member for coffee, lunch, etc. a few times this year, around your schedules. You’ll also be invited to 5-6 brown bags (beverages provided) with your new faculty colleague to provide support on topics such as PDP/PDR, Campus Involvement, Advising, and more. If you are interested, fill out this form with your name, department, and if you request a specific incoming faculty member to mentor; otherwise, you will be matched at random. If there is a problem with the form, just email facdev@mnstate.edu with the information. You will be invited to a coffee and treats reception with your mentee early in Fall semester, and also provided with Sodexo or other gift cards to use to cover the costs of your mentorship chats.
Deadline to volunteer is August 9th and you will receive communication from the Faculty Development Director about your match.
