The application deadline for the Marcil Center for Innovative Journalism’s Dragon Media Group has been extended until Friday, April 30th.

The Forum of Fargo-Moorhead and Minnesota State University Moorhead are looking for as many as five students to participate in a project-based internship in Fall 2021.

The ideal candidates will be smart, positive and eager to work as a team to produce and publish a series or project in topic areas of interest to the Forum’s readers. The right candidates embrace creative multimedia storytelling and are eager to produce engaging enterprise work for a diverse audience. Students selected for the Dragon Media Group will also receive a stipend for the time that they put into the project.

The candidates should have an interest in one or more of the following: journalism, multimedia, marketing, videography, public relations, revenue, design and social media.

As a part of this internship, students will learn the following:

  • In-depth reporting.
  • Basic knowledge of video and photo editing.
  • Project management.
  • Infogram/graphic design.
  • How to conduct a basic marketing campaign.
  • How to use social media for professional purposes.
  • Podcast creation/audio storytelling.
  • How to use digital analytics tools such as Chartbeat, CrowdTangle and Google Analytics.
