MSUM Theatre produces four performances for younger audiences
The School of Performing Arts has produced and recorded four children’s plays which will be made available to families, schools and organizations to stream for a limited time.
The plays include Super Happy Awesome News, a children’s musical geared toward grades K-4; and three plays by Idris Goodwin and the initiative Plays Towards an Anti-Racist Tomorrow, which include: The Water Gun Song, for grades K-5, about a parent trying to explain to a child why a water gun isn’t simply a toy; Nothing Rhymes with Juneteenth, a play for grades 5 – 9, which tells the story about a child and a parent trying to complete a rap for a school presentation; and Black Flag, a play for grades 9-12, which finds two new dorm-mates excited to start their freshman year together, until one decides to decorate their room with a little piece of ‘Southern pride.’
