Dragons Care Plan Update: August 19, 2020

Dear MSUM Students,

We are looking forward to welcoming our new students, starting tomorrow for Welcome Week, and for classes to start on Monday, August 24. Today’s communication provides helpful and timely updates and recommendations to help you prepare for this new school year at MSUM.

Health insurance and medical providers

Students are encouraged to become familiar with your health insurance. Locate the in-network medical providers covered by your insurance policy – you can find these providers listed on the insurance company’s website. The largest medical providers in our community are either Essentia Health or Sanford Health. Both medical providers have clinics located within 3 miles of our campus and offer apps to allow you to set up virtual care visits, if needed.

* International students utilize Family HealthCare as their primary clinic, covered by the insurance plan you purchase when attending MSUM. This provider is located less than 2 miles from campus.
* If you do not have health insurance or are unable to identify in-network providers through your insurance company, our Case Manager/Navigator at MSUM Counseling Services will be able to assist you. You can request a meeting with Jamie for assistance with this.
