Dragons Care Plan Update: July 30, 2020
Thank you to all who were able to join us for our Open Forum on July 22. We plan to offer another forum closer to the start of Fall Semester, so look for more details on that. Today’s communication provides the newest updates as we continue to prepare to welcome you back to campus next month:
Late start for fall sports
The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference recently announced a delay to the start of fall athletic competition. According to MSUM Athletic Director Doug Peters, this late start gives “our student-athletes the safest and most realistic path to completing our competitive seasons.” The delay will mean that football and men’s & women’s cross-country will have their first competitions on September 26. Volleyball and soccer will have their first competitions on October 2. Dragon Athletics will be communicating with student-athletes impacted by this change.
Transportation for COVID-19 testing
We have received some questions from students and families about how a student who does not have their own vehicle will be able to get to a community clinic for COVID-19 testing, if needed. We are providing free taxi rides through a local provider to and from clinics for the purposes of COVID-19 testing. Details can be found by working with our Case Manager/Navigator at MSUM Counseling Services or with your Area Coordinator in Housing & Residential Life
Frequently asked questions featured on Instagram Stories
A number of questions came up in our July 22 Open Forum that have been turned into Instagram stories. Follow @MSUMoorhead on Instagram or go directly to FAQ story highlight. We will continue to create more posts over the coming weeks, to provide you with additional information as we get closer to the start of the semester.
Remember to check back frequently at the Dragons Care website for updates related to classes, housing, activities, and more.
