Philosophy for Children (P4C) in Schools: Good for Teachers and Students, Good for Philosophy
Wednesday, Nov. 6 | 4:30 p.m. | MA 167
Dr. Marilea Bramer, Philosophy, is going to present a colloquium titled “Philosophy for Children (P4C) in Schools: Good for Teachers and Students, Good for Philosophy” on Wednesday, November 6 at 4:30 p.m. (MA 167, MSUM). The following is a brief description of Dr. Bramer’s talk.
“Last year, I talked about why we need to do Philosophy with Children as part of pre-K-12 education and how I’d been visiting daycare centers and schools. In this talk, I’ll update you on how I’ve been working to help teachers add Philosophy to their curriculum. As we know from last year, adding Philosophy for Children to regular school curriculum is good for K-12 teachers and their students, as I shared last year. But I also think it’s also good for Philosophy as a discipline, and I’ll discuss why.”
All are welcome. For more information, please contact Dr. Chang-Seong Hong at cshong@mnstate.edu.
