New Rivers Press awarded Lake Regions Art Council Fall Project Grant
New Rivers Press (NRP) is excited to announce that we have been awarded a Lake Regions Arts Council (LRAC) Fall Project Grant! This $2,077 grant will help fund the printing of You May Have the Suitcase Now by Beaudelaine Pierre. As part of the grant, NRP will make copies of the book available to libraries via the Northern Lights Library Network. New Rivers Press aims to publish diverse works that reflect the communities in which we serve. Pierre’s work, as an examination of immigrant experience, allows readers a better understanding of the diverse landscape of Minnesota. Pierre humanizes the experiences of members of immigrant communities and provides a representation that is lacking today, a point of solidarity for anyone who has experienced similar trials, and reassurance that such readers are not alone.
