MSUM Percussion Ensemble performs at International Percussion Convention in Indiana

The MSUM Percussion Ensemble, under the direct of Dr. Kenyon Williams, will perform this evening at the Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis, IN. PASIC is the largest annual gathering of percussionists in the world, attracting over 5,000 drummers of all ages each fall. Only a handful of university level percussion ensembles are invited to perform at PASIC each year, making this a distinctive honor for our MSUM students. The ensemble will be performing “Ice/Drum,” an original composition written for a mixture of traditional percussion instruments and custom-carved ICE percussion instruments, alongside the “Varying Degrees Percussion Trio.” The VDT, directed by Dr. Williams, features the talents of MSUM percussion alumni Thomas Christianson and Dr. Lucas Bernier. The performance will take place at the Indianapolis Convention Center at 6 p.m. this evening.
