Four candidates for position of Director of Public Safety selected
Four Candidates for the position of Director of Public Safety have been selected. Candidate interviews will start Tuesday, Nov. 12.
Candidate William MacDonald’s public forum will be from 1:10-2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12 in CMU 203.
William MacDonald currently serves as the Director of Public Safety/Security, Emergency Response Team, Information/Dispatch Center and Post Office for Concordia College where he has served since 2008. William also served as a Patrolman, Lieutenant, and Associate Director of University Police & Safety at North Dakota State University from 1990-2008. William has a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Minnesota State University Moorhead and is certified by ATIXA as a Title IX Investigator.
Candidate Jeremy Cossette’s public forum will be from 1:40 – 2:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 18 in CMU 203.
Jeremy Cossette currently serves as the Administrative/Investigative Lieutenant for the White Earth Police Department which is a position he has served since 2013. Jeremy has also served as an Interim Director of Public Safety/Chief of Police (03/2019-09/2019), Administrative Sergeant (2011-2013), Sexual Assault Investigator (2009-2011), School Resource Officer/Patrol Officer (2006-2009) all with the White Earth Police Department. Jeremy has a master’s degree in business management with a minor in Human Resources. Jeremy currently resides in Barnesville, Minn. with his four kids and wife.
Candidate Robert Harri’s public forum will be from 1:10 – 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 in CMU 203
Robert Harri holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from Moorhead State University, (Now Minnesota State University, Moorhead), and a Master of Arts degree in Criminal Justice Leadership from Concordia university in St. Paul, Minn. He is currently serving in his tenth year as the Director of Safety and Security at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Prior to his work at Luther Robert served approximately 25 years in public sector law enforcement. Twenty-three of those years were with the Buffalo, Minn. Police Department where he served in a variety of roles before retiring at the rank of Lieutenant. During his time working with that agency Robert served for 8 years on the Buffalo Hanover Montrose Board of Education. He also worked as an adjunct faculty member at Concordia University in St. Paul where he taught Criminal Justice related courses.
Prior to his tenure with the Buffalo Police Department Robert worked as Director of Security at The College of St. Catherine in St. Paul before accepting a position with The Wright County Sheriff’s Office .
Candidate Kevin Pallas’s public forum will be from 1:10 – 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 in CMU 203
Kevin Pallas currently serves as a Police Sergeant in the Fargo Police Department, a position he has held since 2001. Kevin’s current assignment is supervising the School Resource Officers, Community Trust Officers, Cultural Liaison Officer and the Fargo Park Officer. Kevin also served as the department’s Training Sergeant, Red River Valley SWAT Negotiator Team Leader, Police Training Officer and Defensive Tactics Instructor. Prior to coming to Fargo in 1997, Kevin was an Officer in Wahpeton, N.D. from 1986 – 1996 and Bowman, N.D. 1985 – 1986. Kevin currently serves as a member of the CCUSR group (Cass Clay Unified School Response).
