In many ways, Jacob Measley is your typical 9-year-old. He’s getting ready to start fourth grade. He’s tried his hand at baseball, gymnastics, theater, and dance. He’s also the textbook middle child, always seeking attention and the spotlight. But these typical characteristics also come together to make Jacob something uniquely atypical — Miss Mae Hem, a drag queen who performs in shows around Toledo. Jacob Measley, 9, dressed as drag queen Miss Mae Hem watches other drag queens perform between her shows Saturday, August 11, 2018, at Legends Showclub in Toledo, Ohio.
