Drs. Gooding, Sando present at Railroads in Native America Conference

Dr. Erik Gooding and Dr. Paul Sando were both selected to present at the Railroads in Native America Conference in commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. The Conference was from Sept. 12-15, 2019, held in Omaha, NE. Conference sponsors included the Union Pacific Railroad, the National Park Service, the Union Pacific’s Council of Native American Heritage, and University of Nebraska-Omaha. Dr. Gooding’s presentation was titled, “ashkotewi-hi-myewi: The “Fire Road” and the Meskwaki Nation.” Dr. Sando’s presentation was titled, “The Influence of Railroads on Tribal Lands: Past and Present.”
