MSUM expects 850 students to graduate May 17

MSUM will award degrees to about 850 students during its spring commencement program Friday, May 17 in the university’s Nemzek Fieldhouse.

The 10 a.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Education and Human Services, the College of Science, Health and the Environment, and Graduate Studies. Monica Vega, a social work and psychology major from Ada, Minn., will be the featured student speaker.

The 2 p.m. ceremony will include graduates from the College of Arts, Media and Communication, the College of Business and Innovation, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Graduate Studies. Ayokunle Jaiyeoba, a computer information technology major from Nigeria, will be the featured student speaker.

MSU Moorhead alumna Billi Jo Zielinski, who earned a degree in political science, will be the commencement speaker at both ceremonies. Zielinski is president and CEO of Make-A-Wish North Dakota and has more than 25 years of volunteer and professional experience in the business, government and nonprofit sectors.
