Math Seminar

Wednesday, April 17 | 4-5 p.m. | BR 268

Today at 4 p.m., Samuel Holen will give a talk for the Mathematics Seminar in BR 268.

Title: The Cauchy Integral Formula.

Abstract: In this talk we will discuss the beautiful subject of complex analysis. We will lay the analytic groundwork necessary to derive the Cauchy integral formula. This will entail a brief discussion about complex valued functions and their derivatives. Specifically, we will mention the importance of analytic functions. Next, we will describe the integral of complex functions. At this point, we will prove our main result: the Cauchy integral formula. Finally, we will see some applications of the formula.
