Minnesota State pays tribute to Gov. Dayton and Lt. Gov. Fischbach
In recognition for their unwavering support, the Board of Trustees of Minnesota State Colleges and Universities today adopted a resolution paying tribute to Gov. Mark Dayton and Lt. Gov. Michelle Fischbach.
“Without support from the executive and legislative leadership of the state, it would be impossible for our state colleges and universities to serve as places of hope and opportunity for all Minnesotans,” said Michael Vekich, chair of the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities Board of Trustees. “The leadership shown by Gov. Dayton and Lt. Gov. Fischbach has allowed our faculty and staff to serve our students in ways that will benefit the entire state for generations to come.”
The resolution, which was adopted unanimously by the Board of Trustees, specifically thanks Gov. Dayton for making educational inclusivity and quality a central issue of his administration and for providing strategic investments that benefit both students and communities.
Lt. Gov. Fischbach was recognized for her service as chair of the Senate Higher Education Finance Committee and for supporting initiatives that have helped state colleges and universities meet workforce needs, including the Leveraged Equipment Program and Workforce Development Scholarships.
