Redefining Home

My closest friends are in Moorhead. My clothes and belongings are in Moorhead. My life is in Moorhead. I look back and realize that Moorhead has become my new home.

This sounds a little cheesy and cliché, but if you choose to become part of the Dragon community, soon enough you’ll know what I’m talking about. They say home is where the heart is, and my heart belongs here. With my new friends, my classmates, and my future. At MSUM I am pushed further and further every day to become great. To be a better student, a better leader and all-around better person.

At first the adjustment was hard. I was living in a small room with a stranger, but we came out of it really great friends. We taught each other so many things that you could never learn inside a classroom. I consistently stayed up late working hard and laughing even harder. I became involved on campus by joining a few organizations where I have met the best friends I will ever have.

Through my involvement I have learned things about people, but most importantly about myself. I never thought I could be this happy. By taking chances and doing things I love I have found my passions while simultaneously lighting the road to my future.

Yes, my heart belongs in Moorhead. It belongs with my friends, my hobbies, my jobs, and my passions. The thing is, I wouldn’t have any of that if it wasn’t for my school. MSUM has opened so many doors for me and continues to do so. MSUM began as my support system that has grown into my new home.
