Dr. Kramar, Minei present at GIS/LIS conference

Dr. David Kramar attended the 28th Annual Minnesota GIS/LIS conference in Duluth, Minnesota from Oct. 3-5, 2018. He presented a paper co-authored by Dr. Valquiria Quirino entitled “A Low Cost Alternative to Crop Assessment in Minnesota Using Object-Oriented Classification and a Visible Vegetation Index.”

In addition, Asami Minei, a student in Geosciences, presented her ongoing facilities management work as the GIS Scholar for MSUM.

This is also the first year that we had students attend the conference. Seven (7) undergraduate students spanning disciplines from Geosciences to Economics attended.
