Cellphone test alert

On October 3, 2018 at 1:18 p.m., there will be a nationwide test of the Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS), which includes the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and the Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA).

There will be a test message sent to all cellphones that are connected to wireless providers participating in WEA. These tests are conducted by FEMA and the FCC. As a result, there may be some disruptions in your activities or classrooms due to the alerts. This message is sent just to provide advance notice of this possible disruption of classes or other activities and these messages are for testing purposes.

Additional information is available from the Department of Homeland Security.
