MSUM will host Social Media Day, “Using Social Media for Good,” Friday, April 28, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Paseka School of Business.
Kirsten Jensen, founder and digital strategist at Next Action Digital, will keynote the morning session. Jensen was the digital strategist for Dakota Medical Foundation’s Giving Hearts Day #GoMatchyMatchy campaign, earning more than $10.6 million for the community.
“I work with leaders and organizations to tell their brand stories and empower employees to connect, build relationships and share their experience in social media,” Jensen said.
Other sessions feature using social media for good engagement, creating podcasts, engaging volunteers, and planning for strategy and content. There will be a noon lunch and an afternoon panel of social media strategists from local businesses and organizations.
The event is free of charge and is sponsored by the Marcil Center for Innovative Journalism, the School of Communication and Journalism, and the Paseka School of Business.
